When the 987.2 Cayman S was introduced for the 2009 model year it represented a major mechanical and ascetic redesign for the platform and the last of the fully analog Porsche Sports Cars. The introduction of the new DFI 9A1 engine eliminated all of the potential issues associated with the previous engine design.
